Slip-on impression.Square sub-divided into a central square by narrow borders; the centre has a central five-petalled rose surrounded by a circular band; the borders and central ring are filled by a continuous black-letter inscription reading: mentem sanctum, spontaneu(m) honorem deo, et patrie liberacionem (A holy mind, honour freely given to God, liberty to the country). These words refer to St Agath and occur in her Life (Bollandius and Herschinius 1863, 640A). They were used in hte Middle Ages as a charm against fire. Nodiadau: The site of a kiln producing floor and roof tiles, north of the Priory Church. The most significant finds consisted of kiln wasters of of tiles belonging to the Malvernian series, roof tiles and a dump of unused clay (Lewis, J, M. 1999. The Medieval Tiles in Wales).
