Sherds from the shoulder and base of a probable funerary urn. The three largest sherds joint to suggest a shoulder diameter of approximately 260mm. Sherds are around 11mm thick with oxidized external surfaces and grey brown internal surface and core. Contains moderate roudned quartzite up to 2mm and moderate sandstone up to 4mm. There is no suggestion that the vessel was decorated but a black residue on the external surface might suggest deliberate darkeneing of the surface in the region above the shoulder. The shoulder appears to be slightly rounded so it is unlikely that these sherds were from a collared urn and they are to coarse adn thick to have originated from a beaker. This leaves the food vessel vase and bowl traditions as the most likely candidate.
