Figure in contemporary dress of black shoes, pink/buff trousers, underglaze blue tailed coat buttoned across the chest and outlined in gilt, waistcoat outlined in black, white shirt with gilt buttons, purple bow tie, naturalistically painted face, black hair and beard, standing with head slightly thrown back, right arm raised across the body and holding lavender scroll, left arm resting on outer side of music marked with black notes on a stand , stand marked with a red brown bulge towards the base and with giltstrokes simulating claw feet, head slightly thrown back.
