The ampulla is incomplete, missing the neck (with a surviving length of 30.5mm and a weight of 25.8g containing some sediment). The body is partially open below the missing neck and has a maximum width of 38.0mm and a thickness of 8.7mm. The obverse face is convex and is decorated with the scallop motif, representing the emblem of pilgrimage, and has seven bold and curved ribs, producing a corrugated effect, of Spencer (1990, p59) , Type I. The ribs are slightly wider at the base and narrow towards the neck. The reverse face is concave and plain with a bevelled edge. Casting flashes are evident along the edge.
