Inkwell, bone china with a crackled glaze; standing on a straight sided foot rim, rounded sides with a straight sided collar and everted lip, wide loop handle, and penholder as a spout formed as an open-mouthed animal emerging from moulded leaves; flat top with three holes, and inner recess for ink fitted with an inkliner; painted with dog roses, forget-me-nots, and buttercups; gilt scrolls below the lip, gilt dentil lip, gilt handle, gilt penholder, gilt band to the foot rim and gilt lip to the liner.
