Mug, creamware, cylindrical with simple loop handle, standing on a flat base; body decorated with a broad band of grey slip, reserved with a heart-shaped cartouche painted with a chinoiserie tree and lake landscape in underglaze blue, narrow strip of a running cell pattern in blue above, and a similar band below inscribed 'Mary Hopkins Her Cup 1786'; two underglaze blue vignettes on the handle.
