Remains of Llanfyrnach silver-lead mine. Llanfyrnach silver-lead mine was situated on either side of the Afon Taf 650 metres north east of Llanfyrnach Parish Church, near Crymych. Prior to the 19th century there were in fact two mines - both started around 1750 - as ownership was divided between Maurice Morgan to the east of the river (the Llwyncelyn mine), and the Lloyd family (Llandre) to the west. Soon after the death of Morgan in 1802, ownership was consolidated when the Lloyds bought the land east of the river. The mine closed in 1890.
