Obverse. The king enthroned, wearing a crown of five crosses or fleurs-de-lis and a loose robe, his left hand holds an orb surmounted by a cross crosslet, his right hand holds a long sceptre terminating in an uncertain ornament; to either side of his seat, a lion sejant guardant; the panelled throne rises to a canopy of seven pointed gables surmounted by crocketted pinnacles, a turreted hexagonal tower in centre; to either side of throne, in side panels, a strap supports a shield of arms: quarterly, FRANCE (Ancient) and ENGLAND; above each shield, a flying buttress supports battlements on which are two facing half-length figures of men-at-arms. In the legend (which is preceded and followed by a fleur-de-lis), a full face head with long hair occurs between Anglie and Et
