tumbril sled of box construction mounted on two main frame bearers with additional runners underneath; the box frame construction consists of vertical panels, upper timbers and front cross member bolted to main base frame with long rods; floor of box constructed of wooden longitudinal planks, two tie hooks for chain harness fitted to front main bearers; wooden tail board is detachable with removable pin (no longer with specimen) and removed from other side of box, holding rod and main body; traces of surface red lead paint on front panel and side with modern red paint brush markings on side probably used for cleaning surplus paint off paint brush
