Presentation to two retiring dockers at Barry Docks of a cheque each for £40, subscribed by their colleagues at the port. The presentation was carried out by the Lady Mayor of Barry, Alderman Joyce Atkins who was the widow of a former Barry Dock worker. Welfare Officer), Marcus Watt (Barry Docks Manager), and F. Jones (chairman of the Dockers' Social Club where the function took place.
