The ampulla is near-complete, missing the mouth and side loops (with a surviving and distorted length of 48.2mm and a weight of 44.5g). The neck is mostly closed and had straight parallel sides with a D-shaped section (22mm wide and 9mm thick). Lower stubs from the side loops begin 2 - 3mm above the body. The body has a maximum width of 38.2mm and a thickness of 7.6mm. The obverse face is convex and is decorated with the scallop motif, representing the emblem of pilgrimage, and has seven bold and curved ribs producing a corrugated effect, of Spencer (1990, p59), Type I. The ribs are slightly wider at the base and narrow towards the neck, with the suggestion that they continue and weaken along the neck. The reverse face is flat and plain with a bevelled edge.
