Full title - W. and J. Hughes, Wholesale Slate Merchants.
A letter from W. and J. Hughes Wholesale Slate Merchants, Port Dinorwic (dated 30th August 1907), to Colthurst a Co. (donor’s family run business - timber merchants) detailing prices of ‘Portmadoc slates strong second quality’, and offering to send samples to the company. The letter is printed on cream paper. The donor’s family were timber merchants in Taunton, Somerset. They supplied timber and slate to local builders and merchants, and as a result acquired a collection of slate price lists.
