Casgliadau Arlein

A walking stick made of a length of holly, with patterns skillfully and carefully cut and carved from the bark. Varnishing has then sealed the bark in place. It is an interesting variation from the existing examples of carved sticks in the collection, as it is the bark that has been carved rather than the wood. The natural shape of the wood has been kept, with the exception of a little shaping at the top and foot of the stick.
