S.S. KONISTRA. Built 1943 as EDWIN L. GODKIN by Southeastern Shipbuilding Corp., Savannah, Georgia (with engines by General Machinery Corp., Hamilton, Ohio) for War Shipping Authority ( managed by Luckenbach Steamship Co., New York. 1947 – Sold to Epirotiki Steamship Navigation Co., Piraeus, later transferred to Thomas N. Epiphainades Steamship Co., Piraeus, managed by Nokomis, London. Managed by Furness Withy & Co from 1949, and T.P. Rose Richards from 1950. 1961 – Sold to Marestrella Cia. Nav., Panama,and renamed ERETRIA. Managed by Nokomis, Piraeus – Moreland Navigation, London from 1963 – and Franco Shipping Co., Athens from 1965. 1967 – Sold to Katerina Cia. Nav., SA, Panama, and renamed ERATO (under the Somali flag). 1970 – Sold to Barbarino Shipping Co., (under the Cypriot flag – managed by Franco Shipping Co., Athens). She retained her name, but was broken up at Castellon in 1971.
