(5250gt) : Built 1918 by J. Caird & Co., Port Glasgow, as the tanker WAR MALAYAN for The Shipping Controller, London. 1919 – Sold to G.M. Embiricos & Son, converted to a general cargo carrier and renamed MICHAEL L. EMBIRICOS 1952 – Sold to Bogeazides Bros.,Andros, and renamed DIMITRIS. She ran onto rocks off Redcar on 13th December 1953 while on a passage from North Africa to Middlesborough with a cargo of iron ore. All 36 crew members were rescued and the vessel was declared a total write-off.
