Eisteddfod prize bag awarded to Mair Jones (Mair Afan), 1930.
U-shaped bag: front made from red velvet, back made from green velvet, front decorated with pearlescent glass beads: the beads consist of a large bead surrounded by a string of small beads resembling flower heads. The beaded decoration is stitched along the circumference of the front of the bag as well as a V-shape across the front. Upper inner edge is lined with cream coloured satin fabric. Red silk ribbon stitched to either side to wear around neck. Bag hand-stitched with yellow thread. Beads strung onto a cream coloured thread. The red velvet fabric on the front of the bag is used at an angle, resulting in noticeable diagonal stripes.
