Mug, earthenware, rounded spreading foot-rim moulded with anthemions, cylindrical body with a number of regularly-spaced shallow incised lines running down it, lip-rim moulded with anthemions, scrolled loop handle with a raised foliate moulded thumb-spur; transfer-printed in black with to one side of the exterior body a garden scene showing a female figure assisting a small child to ride upon a dog against a background of shrubbery and a distant house, to the other side another garden scene showing a female figure seated on a bench holding a bird by the side of a pool with a weeping willow and a distant house, black bands to the exterior and interior lip-rim, black anthemions and further markings to the handle, a crack across the base.
