Teapot and cover, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a flat base, baluster body, scroll handle (broken and repaired), up-turned spout with moulded leaves, domed cover with flower finial; decorated in polychrome enamels, on one side with a figure with a triangular hat seated on a bench with a very long pipe, one leg over the other, trees and bushes behind, standing on a purple, curved platform with scrolling and patternwork, opposite two figures in a landscape, the female wearing an orange dress and white apron, male to left, holding a hat, tree to left, bushes behind, standing on a curved, purple platform, two flower sprigs and two leaf sprigs around neck, cover decorated with a figure seated playing a lute, facing away, scene standing on a curved, purple platform, opposite a purple flower sprig and two leaves, finial painted, purple line border around rim, gilt highlighting to handle and spout.
