Under a gothic-type canopy with side pinnacles, the Blessed Virgin seated and crowned, her left hand grasps a sceptre fleury, her right arm supports the Child; in base: within a rounded niche flanked by masonry, the abbot, cowled and tonsured, clasping his pastoral staff, kneels in prayer facing half-right; to either side a shield: dext. a crosier in bend, sin. an eagle. With a small handle/loop on the reverse. Of exceptionally fine craftsmanship.
