Plate, earthenware, standing on a rounded foot rim, curving sides and spreading rim, moulded with a large vine leaf, extending from the centre to the rim, issuing layered foliage and radiating patterns of veins from a curving central stalk, on a basketwork ground apparent on sections of the outer rim not covered by the leaf; transfer-printed in blue with the 'Cows crossing a stream' pattern, in the foreground a male figure drives three cattle across a stream by the side of a bridge, in the background are farm-like buildings and trees, a wide border spreading up the sides of the well and onto the rim of flowers and foliage, a narrow hound's tooth border to the outer rim.
