Roman samian bowl
Conjoining samian bowl sherds, form Dr37. Hard orange/pink ware with a not very glossy red slip and a slightly gritty interior. The ovolo has been damaged by the rim-finisher. Decorative panel above with beaded rosette, beaded cup in field. Below a gladiator with a dagger in his right hand and the left raised in a beckoning gesture, facing right. (O.1047). The subject in the next panel to the right is uncertain.
