Large cylindrical tumbler, clear lead glass, slightly recessed flat base, engraved with the coat of arms of the Pennants of Downing, quarterly 1. Pennant 2. Yswittan Wyddel 3. Philip Phichdan 4. Gruffyd Lloyd impaling Peyton (sable, a cross engrailed or); crest of a gryphon's head in a coronet above and the motto 'Heb DDuw Heb DDirs [sic], A Duw Digors [sic] and 'PENNANT & PEYTON' below, flanked by 'Prosperity to the / House of Downing'. The other side bears the monogram JP in a circular reserve bordered with pendant beads. The sides are also inscribed 'THIS GLASS WAS MADE BY MR JOHN PARRISH/ OF WORDSLEY/ NEAR STOURBRIDGE/ IN WORCESTER/ SHIRE TO / COMMEMORATE / THE COMING/ OF AGE OF/ DAVID PENNANT ESOR/ OF DOWNING IN THE COUNTY OF FLINT/ 22nd Jany 1817.
