Jug, earthenware, standing on a rounded foot-rim, globular body, cylindrical neck, the neck on a raised step from the body, plain beak spout, plain loop handle with slightly raised thumb-spur, a large chip missing from the neck; transfer-printed in blue against a blue ground and overpainted in pink, orangey-red, green and yellow with to one side of the body an oriental scene showing a seated figure and a standing figure bearing a fan in a garden setting with benches, plants in urns, and spreading flowers and foliage, to the other side of the body a similar oriental scene showing a seated figure bearing a birdcage and two standing figures, one bearing a bird in a gardern setting with spreading flowers and foliage, border to the interior and exterior neck, spout and handle of flowers and foliage.
