Breakfast cup and saucer, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain with a green translucency; cup standing on a straight sided foot rim, with a curved base, straight sides with slightly flared lip; loop handle witha pronounced inner spur; saucer standing on a straight sided foot rim, and curved spreading sides; both transfer printed in underglaze blue, with the so-called 'Elephant pattern' - a Chinoiserie style landscape with a willow tree, two large flowers, and a fret-work fence surrounding a garden containing two intricately shaped bushes; inside cup lip, and around saucer edge, a narrow floret trellis border, with Chinoiserie flowers below; underglaze blue print outlined and detailed in gilt; a gilt band to the foot rim and lip, and a gilt leaf motif on the handle.
