“Victory” type cargo ship launched as FORT GRAND RAPIDS, but completed as the Stores Issuing ship CORNISH PARK in 1944 by West Coast Shipbuilders Ltd., Vancouver (engine by Allis-Chalmers), for the Canadian Government managed by Park Steamship Co., Montreal. 1945 – Assigned to the UK Ministry of Transport, and renamed FORT BEAUHARNOIS, managed by Lyle Shipping Co., London OR Holt & Co., Liverpool. 1947 – Taken over by the Admiralty as a “Stores Victualling Ship”.
