Casgliadau Arlein

The shaft of a bone pin of uncertain but probably Roman date.

Shaft is broken at both ends and is undecorated so has few clear diagnositc elements. The shaft has a heptagonal cross-section.

Multiple other bone pins of Roman date were recovered from previous Whitton Villa excavations making this more likely to be from the Roman era. The object was also recovered from a gully in the Roman era field system. The crisp faceting would suggest that , if it is from the Roma era, it was likely to have been unfinished or unused.
