Rectangular, rounded corners, slight curvature to rim. Centre with octagonal panel decorated with the launch of a heavily armed merchant ship of the West Indiaman type, painted in colours. Border to panel with stencilled decoration of vine leaves stencilled in black on a dusted gold bronze ground. Stylised floral ornament in gold bronze and orange. Black japan surround to flat base, the edge with gold bronze bands. The rim with stencilled decoration of large black leaves also on a dusted gold bronze ground, alternating with stylised floral ornament in bronze gold and green. Black japan to underside of base.
