Casgliadau Arlein

Plate, soft-paste porcelain, standing on a tapering foot-rim, curving sides and spreading rim, a scalloped edge to the rim; painted in underglaze blue and polychrome enamels with a Japanese-style decoration, to the centre of the well a design of stylized branches and foliage enclosed within a red circular band with gilt floral decoration, to the sides eight fan-shaped panels radiate out from the centre to the rim, four of the panels decorated with lattice work patterns in blue, pink, yellow and gilt, and four with spreading sprays of flowers in polycrome enamels or gilt, over the panels are scattered three large stylized flower heads, three spreading sprigs of flowers to the underside of the sides, two blue bands to the foot-rim, two concentric blue bands to the base.
