Casgliadau Arlein

These are the poorly preserved remains of an inhumation burial of an older child (7.5-12.5 years) who's sex is undetermined. All that remains are fragments of cranium, teeth, and heavily fragmented bones from the individual's right leg.

The burial is Unphased, so not from the main originally Bronze Age burial mound, but still within the Early Medieval cemetery. They were buried in an extended supine position in a simple grave oriented Northwest-Southeast.

The individual's teeth show signs of calculus and caries which are indicators of poor oral hygiene. They also show signs of dental enamel hypoplasia, which are marks on a tooth caused by interrupted development and indicate a period of stress, ill-health, or poor nutrition during childhood.
