"Barton Patent" black painted paraffin lamp, early 20th century, with one front light and two side lights. Hinged door at rear to allow access to lamp unit. Paraffin reservoir has a ring attached for ease of removal, and the wick extender protrudes through a slot cut in lamp body. Hinged door has two separately hinged handles attached; and the half-rounded top of the lamp also has a hinged handle. A reflector is mounted behind the wick unit, and vent slots have been cut into both sides at the base.
