Figure sparsely painted, in military dress of black shoes, white trousers, white jacket with orange fringed epaulettes, green sash with an orange fringe wrapped from across body from left shoulder, black hair and moustache, white peaked hat with a pink plume, seated astride gilt spotted horse on a yellow and orange saddle cloth fringed with pink, pink girths, turning towards the viewer resting right hand on thigh, left hand on horse's neck, horse stepping on a white rocky ground rising to support it under the belly, black bridle, hooves, mouth and eyes.
