Wirephoto published in the Tribune newspaper in 1957. Purchased by David Hurn from MMG Photo Archives. Full title: End of a young life. Olga Cassanova, 14, plunges to her death in an 11-story drop from a Manhattan hotel room last night after defying police desperately trying to snatch her from a window ledge. The girl, apparently angered by a scolding from the aunt with whom she lived, came to New York from the Virgin Islands in 1955. The photograph is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the librarian of the Baltimore Sun Archives Paul M McCardell.

Daniel Apila, 30, plummets toward street today after plunging from fifth-floor fire escape in New York. He survived but suffered critical injuries. Apila ignored pleas from police, telling them, "I've done something shameful... I must die." The photograph is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the librarian of the Baltimore Sun Archives Paul M McCardell.

Full title: This view along side of the centre span of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge attracts thousands of tourists each year but it has also attracted at least 265 persons to leap from it since it was opened in 1937. Yesterday a soldier, Drake E. Rogers Jnr, 20, of Petaluma California, became the 265th known suicide from the bridge. Among the many reasons given for the span's attraction yo persons bent on suicide is that of a California highway patrol officer assigned to the bridge. He thinks it is popular ''because of its convenience, notoriety and glamour''.

Susan Johnston, 26, is a veteran of almost 8 years with the Kansas City Police. She often acts as a decoy in one of the city's high sex crime areas and recently was one of ten officers presented awards nationally and selected to meet President Nixon and members of the Justice Department. The photograph is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the librarian of the Baltimore Sun Archives Paul M McCardell.
