Ridge tile made from a single slab of clay containing visible silicate(?) inclusions and some quartz. The tile is partially glazed with a yellow/green glaze (iron based?). It has cut out pieces along the ridge and inpressed decoration just below the ridge on either side made using an implement such as the point of a trowel. The body of the tile is terracotta but appears to have oxidised in some areas under the glaze to a grey colour. The underside is mostly covered in lime mortar but where it is not it is possible to see the indentations formed when it was pushed into shape.
