Taff Merthry Colliery Manager, Mr Graham Schewitz, gives an introduction to the colliery for men who had been transferred to the colliery. Mr Schewitz sets out his ground rules which are to 'work safely' and to do 'an honest days work for an honest days pay'. He explains that miners new to the colliery will be placed with men who know the colliery and that there is information available from the training officer. He also informs the new intake where they can find out about safety wear, tools and resolve transport questions.
