Casgliadau Arlein

Figure of Prince Alfred, later Duke of Edinburgh, white earthenware with a crackle glaze firing cracks on front of plinth, standing beside a chair, on an irregularly shaped oval plinth inscribed in gilt raised capitals. Dressed in naval uniform of black shoes, white trousers, underglaze blue jacket with gilt detailing, pink/orange waistcoat with purple patterning over a white shirt with a broad collar, orange sash around waist, white sash decorated with gilt zig across chest from left shoulder, orange neck tie, naturalistically painted face, underglaze black hair, standing with head raised, left leg slightly forward, right hand on hip and holding a yellow straw hat, left hand resting over the curved back of a broad upholstered chair and holding a black sword banded with orange across the interior of the chair, chair brown with a black interior and an orange fringed seat.
