Cream paper with black print and hand written details in black ink, red flag on top left hand corner with initials 'J.B.' in centre. Headed paper - Jenkins Brothers, Steamship Owners, Cardiff. Recommendation letter to certify that S.R. Davies served as third engineer with second class certificate on S.S. GLAMORGAN, dated May 17, 1909. Signed by the master, H. Jones.

The S.S. GLAMORGAN was completed in 1906 by Craig, Taylor & Co. Ltd. of Stockton-on-Tees for Jenkins Bros. of Cardiff. Sold in 1919 she was wrecked in the St. Lawrence River in November 1923.
