Samian bowl sherd, form Dr37. A fairly small Central Gaulish sherd in a thin orange/pink fabric with a smooth glossy red slip. At the lower edge of the decoration the flatness of the sherd suggests this is Form Dr29 but it ismore likely to be a Dr37. There is a fine basal groove and above this the design is a large festoon and tassle, the festoons being the large leafy ones and the tassel has a bold branched stem ending in a large triple leaf. Where the leaf joins the branch and in the spandrels formed by the festoons, the small ⱭD monogram occurs. The sherd shows an excellent style and execution.
Dr 37 is a hemispherical decorated bowl
