Early Medieval human remains
These are the poorly preserved remains of a younger middle adult (25-35 years). They were probably female. Their remains are very heavily fragmented.
The burial in Unphased.
She was buried in an extended supine position in simple grave oriented West-East.
The burial is associated with SK39 and SK40 to the west and SK48 and SK49 to the east. There was a piece of quartz associated with the burial.
Her teeth showed signs of calculus, which is mineralised plaque and an indicator of poor oral hygeine and dental enamel hypoplasia which can be an indicator of stress, trauma or malnutrition during childhood.
