Middle Bronze Age gold bar torc
Dyma dorch neu gylch gwddf sydd bron yn grwn, wedi’i thorchi dair gwaith a hanner. Mae’n anghyflawn ac mewn dau ddarn. Mae i'r bar drawstoriad crwn ac mae'n blaen, heb y troelli a welir yn y tair torch arall oedd yn y celc. Mae un derfynell fachog gyfan ar ôl. Mae’n blaen ac iddi drawstoriad crwn. Cafodd ei sodro ar y prif far ac mae’n meinhau o’r uniad cyn ymledu wrth gyrraedd y pen draw sy’n fflat. Mae toriad trwy far y dorch ger y derfynell sydd ar ôl. Yn 1954 y digwyddodd hyn, yn fuan ar ôl darganfod y dorch. Mae’r derfynell arall wedi torri ychydig uwchlaw plyg y bachyn; credir bod hyn wedi digwydd yn yr hen oesoedd ac mae’n edrych fe pe bai wedi’i chlipio neu ei phinsio.
Torch aur far wedi’i siapio fel breichdlws. 1300-1150 CC.

Gwybodaeth am y darganfyddiad
Enw'r Safle: Talwrn Farm, Llanwrthwl
Nodiadau: Hoard. The hoard was found on/around 21st February 1954 in a field of pasture known as Cae-gwyllt Bank, belonging to Talwrn Farm. Two farm workers were clearing the field of stones for ploughing and found a large stone on its side weighing approximately 100kg, below which was a heap of small stones. Under one of these stones were two torcs of different sizes, and below these was another small stone, which covered a further two torcs. The findspot was near the southern corner of the field on a south-east slope in the Wye river valley. The presence of a possible marker stone, and careful concealment of the torcs, may imply these torcs were buried with the intention of recovery, or for safe keeping. Four years later a Middle Bronze Age gold ring was found about a mile and a half away.
