Tail coat, gold embroidered. Part of a uniform worn by Sir John Arthur Herbert when he was the Governor of Bengal under the British Raj (1939-43).

Black woollen cloth, with black silk quilted lining. Heavily embroidred on collar, cuffs and waist with a floral design in gold metal thread. Nine buttons on front with the British Royal Coat of Arms.
