Newspaper cutting 'Distressed Areas'. Gives the reasons why Mabel M. Thornton visited the 'distressed areas' of South Wales (Brynmawr, Dowlais and Mid Rhondda) in 1927. Mabel Thornton (1892-1974), was the daughter of a sugar plantation owner in Argentina.
