Plate, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain; standing on a foot rim, with everted lip; painted with set pattern 219 - a Japanese influenced design of dark underglaze blue border with three groups of iron red and white chrysanthemums and gilt foliage and scrolls, divided by three oval reserves of flowers on a salmon pink ground; central motif of a pale blue cactus-like flower, crossed by a dark blue and gilt band, and encircled by a salmon pink band with gilt leaves.
