Photograph (print)
Photograph of a man and two women walking down a street, about 1930. Presumed to be members of the Matthews family of St Fagans. Informal snapshot in a candid, street-photography style, thought to have been taken while on holiday. Unknown location (possibly Porthcawl).
From a collection of photographs formerly belonging to Flora Phryswith Matthews of Ty Nant, St Fagans. Known as Phryswith, she was the daughter of Thomas Matthews, the village wheelwright. During the First World War, she served as a Voluntary Aid Detachment (VAD) nurse at the 3rd Western General Hospital in Cardiff.
