Casgliadau Arlein

Very fine silk bobbin net, point de Paris type mesh, applied Chantilly type bobbin made border, floral motifs, ends gathered into silk tassels. Supposedly worn by Miss Sophia Brodie at the Bath Assembly Rooms before her marriage to Major Hugh Price of Castell Madoc, Brecon. A miniature painting of Sophia Brodie is in the Art collection (object number: NMW A 641).
