Plate, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain, with a green translucency; standing on a flared foot rim curving into flared spreading sides; painted with a bold Japan pattern of a single plant with large green leaves and two stylised iron red flowers on either side with underglaze blue leaves, growing from a dark underglaze blue rock; bordered above by a scalloped edge enclosing arabesque scrolls on a pale red ground; gilt lip.
