Plate, earthenware, tapering foot-rim, curving sides and spreading concave rim with a lobed edge; transfer-printed in blue with the 'Castle' pattern, to the well a landscape with figures passing under a castle gatehouse, further figures and cattle in the foreground, around the rim a wide elaborate border of stylized flower heads, foliage and fleur-de-lys against dark and light blue grounds.
