Plate of pale creamware, plain circular shape with flat base, curved sides and spreading slightly curved rim; decorated in the centre of the well with a transfer print depicting a collier brigantine in sail with two painted pennants, in the right background a ship in sail with a tall mast and a dinghy containing two men, the rim painted with a broad black line round the outer edge and a thin black line round the inner edge.
