Roofless ruins of Rhymney ironworks with expanse of grass in the foreground, looking northwest. On the right is the reduced southern gable of the southern block of the fitting shops, and on the left of centre are the smiths shops in the centre (the arcade with light quoinwork). On the left behind the telegraph post are the ruins of Nos. 4,5 and 6 blast furnaces.
