The ampulla is incomplete, missing some of the mouth, and reverse face and the side loops (with a length of 51.6mm and a weight of 39.8g). The expanded mouth (with a width of 25.3mm) is damaged and is open. The neck has straight parallel sides and is of oval section (23mm wide and 7.2mm thick). Stubs from the side loops begin 2mm above the body and have a length of 12.6mm (4mm internal). The body has a maximum surviving width of 37.6mm and a thickness of 8.5mm. The obverse face is convex and is decorated with the scallop motif, representing the emblem of pilgrimage, and has seven bold and curved ribs, producing a corrugated effect, of Spencer (1990, p59), Type I. The ribs are wider at the base and narrow towards the neck. The ribs continue and weaken along the neck. The reverse face is flat and plain with a bevelled edge.
