On the obverse of the circular medal in relief an image of a dragon in repose facing left. An inscription around the circumference reads GENEDLAETHOL. FE. NATIONAL .EISTEDDFOD. ASSOC’N. CYMDEITH AS. On the reverse an image of a bard, turned to the right & holding a harp in his hands. In the background a sunburst on the right with the initials TALIESIN above; rocky background and ruins on the left in the far distance. Around the circumference a fruiting wreath.
